Jean-Pierre Fierens est associé au sein de notre département Règlement des litiges.

Il est spécialisé en droit des sociétés et des contrats, et est l’un des plaideurs les plus réputés en Belgique, notamment en matière d’arbitrage.

Jean-Pierre traite une large gamme d’affaires nationales et internationales, couvrant tant les procédures devant les tribunaux que les arbitrages pour des clients dans des domaines incluant le secteur bancaire, le secteur alimentaire et les assurances. Il représente également des entités étatiques.

Il est aussi connu pour son rôle dans des litiges complexes et hautement médiatisés impliquant la responsabilité des administrateurs.

Au cours des dix dernières années, Jean-Pierre a été nommé à de nombreuses reprises arbitre unique, co-arbitre ou président d’un tribunal arbitral.

Il intervient également en tant que conseil dans les affaires d’arbitrage. Jean-Pierre est un médiateur accrédité (Center for Effective Dispute Resolution, Londres). Il a agi en tant que médiateur dans un large éventail de litiges liés au droit des sociétés et au droit des contrats.


Formation

Jean-Pierre Fierens a obtenu une Maîtrise en droit de la Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) en 1972, une Licence spéciale en droit économique de l’Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) (1973) et a suivi les études spéciales en droit fiscal à l’ICHEC à Bruxelles en 1977. Il est également titulaire d’une Maîtrise en droit (LL.M.) de l’Université de Columbia (1980).

Jean-Pierre Fierens a été admis au Barreau de Bruxelles en 1973.

Jean-Pierre Fierens a été bâtonnier de l’Ordre néerlandais des avocats du Barreau de Bruxelles de 1998 à 2000.

Il a été président de la section belge de la Ligue pour le droit de la concurrence de 2000 à 2002.

Il a été président du conseil d’administration d’un cabinet d’avocats international à Bruxelles, ainsi que responsable du département contentieux de ce même cabinet.
