Bart De Moor has been appointed as a director of the Poelaert Foundation.
The Poelaert Foundation (Fondation Poelaert – Stichting Poelaert) has the objective to preserve the Brussels Courthouse (Palais de Justice – Justitiepaleis) and to centralise the different judicial services of Bruxelles on the Poelaert Campus, making sure that all people seeking justice or working within the judicial system find all the services they may need in one and only place. The Foundation wishes to sensitise the Brussels community for the value of the Courthouse and its environment.
Moreover, the Poelart foundation is also in charge of coordinating the renovation works of the Brussels Courthouse among the competent civil administrations and authorities.
The directors represent various institutions of the Brussels community and are currently:
- Jean-Pierre Buyle, lawyer and former president of the Brussels Bar
- Chevalier Jean de Codt, chairman ermeritus of the Court of Cassation
- Bart De Moor, lawyer and former president of the Brussels Bar
- Chevalier Paul Dujardin, former Director General of the Palais des Beaux-Arts (BOZAR)
- Isabelle Ekierman, lawyer and architect
- Benoit Frydmann, University Professor and board member of the ULB
- Baron Jan Grauls, former diplomat
- Christine Roger, Director General to the Council of the European Union
- François Schuiten, cartoonist
- Dirk Van Gerven, lawyer and former president of the Brussels Bar
- Christian Vandewal, emeritus public prosecutor to the Cour de Cassation and historian
- Hugo Weckx, former minister
